Academic Requirements
General College Admission
1.English Language Requirement, Category 3; and
2.Oneorallof the following:
- Successful completion of a BC secondary program (Grade 12) or the equivalent;
- Be at least 19 years of age by the first day of the first semester of attendance; or
- Successful completion of an ABE (Adult Basic Education) or GED (General Educational Development) program.
Note: Programs may have additional admission requirements. Please check theprogram admission requirementsspecific to the program you intend to apply to.
A new BC high school curriculum came into effect July 2019. Students graduating from a BC high school from July 2019 onwards are completing the new BC high school Graduation Program requirements. Applicants should take note of the following changes:

Langara College will continue to recognize courses completed under the old curriculum for admission and pre-requisite purposes*.
*Some high school courses may only be accepted for admission or pre-requisite purposes for a period of either 3 or 5 years from the date of completion. Please check individual program admission requirements and course descriptions for more detailed information.
English 12 Provincial Exam
Students who completed English 12 prior to July 2019 must have written the English 12 Provincial Exam if they wish to use the course for admission or prerequisite purposes. Please note that students who completed the Adult Graduation Program prior to July 2019 must also have written the English 12 Provincial Exam if they wish to use the course for admission or prerequisite purposes.
Conditional Admission
BC secondary school students who are under 19 years of age who will not graduate from secondary school because they are missing only one course AND are registered in the missing course may apply for conditional admission.
To be considered for conditional admission, students must submit anAppeal for Conditional Admission or Concurrent Studies formand ensure that the following information is received by Registrar & Enrolment Services:
- Students must have requested a transcript from theStudentTranscripts Serviceto be sent to Langara AND their PEN must be on file at the College. An official Ministry of Education paper transcript must be submitted if grades are not received electronically.
- Students must submit an interim transcript of the course that they are completing with a grade of at least 60%.
Students who have registered for Langara courses before their final secondary school grades arrive must complete theAppeal for Admission and Re-Admission form并提交必要的文件,以维护他们的课程注册。有条件接受仅限于秋季学期,此表格和证明文件必须在7月31日前在注册与入学服务中心收到。未毕业或未获有条件录取的学生,将被取消其已注册的任何课程。
Secondary/Post-Secondary Concurrent Studies
BC secondary students entering or currently in Grade 12 who have demonstrated academic excellence may apply for limited admission to university-transfer or open career courses while attending secondary school.
Enrolment will be restricted to three credits of study per semester. Admission will be approved on a semester by semester basis until students have met Grade 12 graduation requirements or have reached the age of 19 years.
Students wanting to apply under this category of admission must submit:
- A completedApplication for Admissionform, co-signed by a parent or legal guardian;
- A completedAppeal for Conditional Admission or Concurrent Studiesform;
- A letter of support from their secondary school principal or delegate; and
- An official copy of their final transcript of their Grade 11 year and a copy of any interim transcripts of their Grade 12 year.
Appeals for admission and re-admission are accepted at Registrar & Enrolment Services up to one week before the first day of classes.
ADMISSION NOTE:
Langara College is not able to guarantee registration in specific programs or courses even if students have been granted admission. Successful registration is also dependent upon having the required prerequisites for individual programs and/or courses.

Document Verification
All documents are routinely verified. Evidence of falsified documents will result in the denial of admission to Langara College. Information on falsified documents is shared with the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada.
Retention of Student Records
Langara College retains records of academic performance indefinitely. The College retains materials that support admission from one year after the first registration to five years after last activity on the student record, depending on the type of document. Before submitting irreplaceable material to support an application, check withRegistrar & Enrolment Services.
Registrar & Enrolment Services will destroy all admissions material after one year if a student does not register into courses.
